“Cracklin’ radio fades with the dawn.” After camping out a few days alone in the desert, I continue down U.S. Hwy 95 that connects Reno and Vegas. My mind replays memories of playing at the Sourdough in Beatty, the Alternative in Silver Peak, the Mizpah and the Clubhouse in Tonopah, and fueling up at that truck-stop in Hawthorne. Wide open spaces, long distances, and a late night bar in a tiny town; I imagine a romance.
